Alan Margherio, MD serves as a vitreo-retinal surgeon in Grand Rapids, Michigan, at Associated Retinal Consultants. A board-certified ophthalmologist, Dr. Margherio also serves as an Associate at Mercy Health Partners and as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine. Alan Margherio, MD is a member of various professional organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Medical Association, and the Michigan Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, among others.
Dr. Margherio holds a Doctor of Medicine from Detroit’s Wayne State University, and did his residency in ophthalmology at the Henry Ford Hospital. Outside of his work as an ophthalmologist, he contributes his time to various charitable organizations, including the Vision Research Foundation and Cradles to Crayons. He has also served as an honorary chair at the March of Dimes Signature Chefs auction. In his spare time, he enjoys wakeboarding, carpentry, woodworking, and swimming.
